Women of absense!

Some days back while surfing.. i got to see a beauty contest ('catogerically' for married women) and my thoughts were filled with sarcasm..."how dumb and how stupid" i spat! how did these women participate in this content''less'' show...was my second thought... mothers of 'x' number of kids -but how sexy and appealing they are...was the only thing they wanted to show.Okay you may want to say here that..excuse me! they also show the brain part of these women. But do you think by asking questions like- tell me what is an ideal relationship like? tell me how would you takle an extramarital? Is extramarital good or bad ? Do you talk openly about sex to your kids? -you can prove somebody superior..or beautiful...or brainy?? - i may be appearing as an orthodox woman coming from some 16th century .. by putting up such thoughts..but so be it. Come to think of it, why would somebody participate in such event/contest? Is it the desire to prove oneself...no please dont get me wrong!...yes proving yourself is absoultely right...and also a RIGHT* but where? To prove that you are physically beautiful even after an age? To fake that you have "the perfect relationship with your spouse" or to flaunt on how urbane you are in bringing up your kids? Were these women deprived of appreciation of their beauty in the past? Or their thoughts cant progress beyond ........anyways i just wanted to say here is how our definitions, platforms and values are changing. If the organisers were to design the contest defining the role of new age women - i think they wouldnt have got any audience..probably or even no participants. They serve what is in demand and how the audience would like to see this contest as? But is this our so called 'new age women'? Is there something beyond...to progress and evolve and make this place a little different( i will not use the typical statement- 'make this place a better world'- i will talk about this in my next post) In ancient scripts it is said that when women progress the world would progress, which is so true. Because the ' Sanskara' as 'Sanskriti' comes from a women to the child-in a broader sense to human beings. But here everything is so unreal, so untrue, so fake, so meaningless...that the scope and hope for progression looks so meak...but i see a hope in the 'x'million women who didnt participate in this 'woman of absense' contest!
